Let's just get real for a second here and be honest, any one that comes through our doors even myself has no idea what they truly want their kitchen to look like. We all go online and look at photos that inspire us and give us ideas on what we do like and don't like, but we truly don't know how to commit to one idea. Part of having your kitchen done is the surprise, or the outcome that wasn't expected. (A good outcome of course) How many of you have had your kitchen remodeled and had the hardest time picking out cabinets, counter tops, or even the back splash? I know we have. Sometimes you just need to go with your gut and let it all come together. Here are some honest tips on how to make your mind up on some of the hard decisions you will be facing if you choose to have your kitchen remodeled.
#1 Step one is to choose a cabinet that is in your budget range and one that is appealing to the eye.
You don't want your cabinets to stand out to the point where they over power everything else in your kitchen. Honestly you want your cabinets to compliment everything from the flooring to the appliances to even the wall color. I know it sounds silly but having a cohesive kitchen is an eye catcher to a buyer or even another home owner.
#2 Step two is to choose a counter top that compliments your cabinets.
The counter top happens to be one of the harder choices for people to come to an agreement on. A lot of the time the fear is that once you see it in a full cut out format that you will not like it, or that it wont compliment everything like how you thought it would.
#3 Step three is to choose a back splash that will compliment and stand out at the same time.
Your back splash is the center of the room if we may call it. It happens to be the last thing people look at when they come into your kitchen though. So having one that stands out a little bit more than the cabinets or the counter top actually helps the cohesiveness of the remodel. Going neutral is not always a bad thing as well. To be honest it all has to come together is some sort of way. Even if its a neutral cabinet and back splash, or all three items. You want your kitchen to look like one master piece not three individual ones.
#4 Step four which should honestly probably be step one but we will put it here. Is to pick a good company and designer to work with.
To be honest some company's and designer's don't care about what your budget is and they want you to spend the highest dollar to get exactly what you want. For us it is the complete opposite. We pride ourselves in staying in your budget frame and helping you design your dream kitchen. We want you to have anything and everything you want in the amount you have provided us with. Choosing is not an easy task and it is never going to be, but if you do your research and take your time things will fall into place how they are supposed to.
These 4 Honest tips will help you in the long run make the decisions you need to make when you decide to remodel your kitchen. Updating your kitchen is not easy and it is a hard task. When it is all said and done though you will be extremely happy and satisfied with what was accomplished. Also we hope you feel the same way about the company and designer you had working for you. If you aren't then the journey was not worth it. So PLEASE do your research and listen to the ads and people who are referring you to these companies.
